I have an interview tomorrow and they don’t know I’m pregnant yet. I was just wondering if it’s even a good idea to take the job if I get it.
I don’t see why not… If they refuse to hire you while you are pregnant it is discrimination. I don’t know if you would be allowed to use certain chemicals but they are not allowed to even ask you about medical conditions, family life, or if you are pregnant. I would not be too worried about it and just go with your gut. They will tell you if there are any risks or reasons why one should not be hired and make sure to ask questions about the job and its duties to help you make a better decision. Good luck and i hope i was able to help some.
Did you consider saying where you are willing to go? If you’re in Georgia, the daily trip to Oregon would be difficult.
Prepare fliers and put them in the newspaper boxes at the end of driveways. If there is a condo complex or nice apartment building close enough to you, then you can see if you can post filers there. Get some business cards to hand out to people.
Be aware that the closing rate on blind fliers, etc. is very low. If you put out 1,000 fliers, don’t be surprised if you only get 10-20 responses. If you are doing this type of work for somebody already, be direct and ask that they tell their friend that you are looking for more work and how good you are. (I use the same woman that two of my cousins use, because one of them recommended her.)
You could try posting an ad on Craigslist.com but ads there can get lost among all the others. Other than craigs list, I don’t know of any local sites.
