you could market yourself in apartment complexes, make business cards with your info on it and offer your services for maid services and offer for apartment clean up after people move out, sometimes they leave big messes…

how can i find a job as a housekeeper/maid in houston and get paid good im 17yrs old ?
Should I tip my housekeeper?
I believe I’m being charged a lot to clean our house. She charges $85 for four people for an hour total, twice a month. I also don’t feel she does the most thorough job (am searching for another). Would like to know if I need to tip for a GOOD job — before the next one starts.
A couple more details I left out. I believe the main person is a citizen, but I believe she employs illegals. It’s definitely not a company, and the main person cleans with them. I am finding a new one because someone stole a debit card from a desk and cleaned us out yesterday. We know where we kept the card, and it isn’t there.
Needless to say, I think we got what we asked for! Given the answers so far, we are looking for a service.
I have a maid service too.
The total price per hour varies depending on the cost of living for your particular area, the type of company you are doing business with (e.g. do they provide supplies and equipment, are they licensed, bonded and insured, are they employees that are trained, or subcontractors or day labor?
You’ll pay more for better companies that provide more customer protection and service. As an example in seattle, depending on the kind of service you are dealing with some companies here charge $40 per hour PER PERSON. My company is about $33, so I definately agree with the above poster that $85 is a good price for the amount of cleaning you are receiving.
So with all that being said- You are getting a service and you are not happy with the job they are doing- Please call the company and let them know you are not happy. In most every case the office wants the feedback of a poor performing team. You can also leave a note if you are unhappy for the team if you are not home.
Whatever price you are paying, you should be 100% satisfied with the job that is done. If you are not satified, you need to communicate with the company. If the company is reputible, in my opinion they should come back out n/c and redo what they missed (we do)
It is also a good way to get your point across. If you are not comfortable complaining specifically, call and ask for a different, and more thorough team to be sent out.
On to the tipping question- When clients ask us about this, we tell them it is not required, but if they feel the team does a good job a few extra dollars are appreciated by the cleaners. It’s a positive motivator too, but I would not pay the team extra to get them to do the job you think they should be doing to start with. They should be making you happy already.
If you still feel the service you are receiving is poor, Below is a page from my site on how to go about selecting a maid service, and the factors to consider before making your final selection.
Our industry is swamped with many individuals that can stand on the corner with a broom and call themselves a company- If this is the type of service you are using, in my opinion it’s a buyer beware situation, you will get what you pay for.
Good luck.
I hope this helps you.
Can anyone recommend a good housekeeper/cleaner in New York City?
I am looking to have a cleaning person come bi-weekly to my apartment, but would like to make sure the person is good at their job as well as trustworthy.

What horrible jobs are illegals doing?
My grandmother picked cotton
My uncle is in construction (and the only non migrant worker on the site)
My aunt is a Janitor
I’ve worked in fast food, on farms, hotel housekeeper (again, only native born at the hotel)
My father has worked in Factory Maintenance
My brother has worked floor clean up in a Tyson Chicken Factory
So WHAT jobs are immigrants doing that Americans won’t??????
33 Million below poverty line in 2000 Census…… are you telling me THESE people won’t do these jobs?
Olesya— feeling a little lonely?
I emailed Task, but felt like adding it here too.
1. I am not White
2. I am educated.
3. Lots of hard working Americans do jobs they don’t WANT to do, but need to to live.
Thank you for this question! Americans do these jobs, and have for years and years……And we will again, if thats what it takes….I can name a number of American citizens that would take these jobs, and be happy to bring home a paycheck every week. You and yours are truly an american family, doing what you have to do to get by…..and lead the american dream.
This is the best question I have seen tonight. Hopefully others will feel the same.
How can I find a job as a housekeeper/maid in Florida?
Not as a career choice but am in college but would like work as a house keeper part time other then cleaning I can even do light cooking…or more with a cook book..lol. I don’t even mind pets at all or kids : ).
How can I find a job like that in Florida?
Or do you think all thoes types of jobs are taken?
And am not into hotel jobs but I rather do homes where I can get maybe three homes as work instead of ten rooms or more if short staffed I talked to two before.
Should I place ads?
also ads on the street?
am going to do that now thanks to the third poster and more answers welcomed and thanks you two
you do have a point but what if I luck out? now am debating..
You should use every area of help you can get so yes, place ads, you can place a free ad indicating that you are a student and looking for temporary work, you can do this by clicking on:

If you have experience be sure to list that and offer references when asked for them.
Good luck
University benefactor was a housekeeper…do you remember this story?
Maybe 10 years ago, I remember hearing a story about a black housekeeper who lived very frugally, and left her entire savings to a university. I also remember her face, but cannot recall her name. It seems that even Oprah herself was impressed by the generosity of this lovely woman…but I cannot recall all the particulars. It is important to me now, as I want to relate this story and others like it to several employees who seem to be seeking meaning in their (rather mundane) jobs.
Come to think of it, my grandchildren need to hear these things as well….Any help would be greatly appreciated!
This was fun to look up, thanks for the challenge. The story I found that matches your request the best is at this link:

Here’s the beginning of the story: QUOTE
One Sunday morning in 1995, the front page of my local newspaper carried the story of an 86-year-old African-American woman. She had spent her life taking care of ill family members and working as a laundress, and had decided to give away $150,000 of her life savings.

I hope this is the one you are looking for, thanks!

im just searching for possible jobs to help with paying for college and stuff.
I have hired as young as 16 but she was a daughter of a friend and lived next door, and showed my dog at dog shows.
