Salaries are based on three factors. Rarity of the skill required to do a job, difficulty of the skill required to do a job and the amount of money the job makes for the employer.

If you have a service job, or in the case a hotel housekeeper, a hospitality job, your work is more of a deficit to the bottom line. Your work doesn't directly pay into the company's coffers. The customer is paying for the stay in the hotel and not necessarily for cleaning service.

Case in point.

There are 350 million people in the United States, and of those people almost all of them can pick up a shovel and dig ditches. Any employer whose business requires ditches to be dug makes very little money from an employee digging ditches. So, digging ditches pays very little money.

In contrast, out of 350 million people in the United States, only 300 people play professional baseball. The skills, strength and time it took to get to that level is extremely difficult to acquire and rare. Also, a professional baseball players makes hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars, for their employer(s). So, professional baseball players make a lot more than a ditch digger.

The same can be said of a doctor, CEO, accountant, and so on.
References :
Because basically everybody can do the physically demanding jobs. Even somebody who cannot speak your language. Even the easy office jobs sometimes require some prerequisites and not everybody can do them. May it be language issues or just plain stupid people.
That's my view on this. :)
References :
'Brain work' pays more than 'muscle work' because it requires some skill. Just about anyone can clean hotel rooms, it's not hard to find unskilled labor. But being a receptionist requires some skill. Plus they're looking for a certain type of person, because you represent the company, you're the first person people see when they come in.

I've noticed all my life that the older and balder I get, the more they pay me, and the less physically demanding the work, but the more I have to think, and the harder the decisions are.
References :
You mean sponsor you for a Work Visa?
I don't think you'll have much luck. It's a lot of trouble to go through, plus a long wait. People would probably much rather hire someone local than have to wait for a Work Visa to be processed.

But,good luck though.
References :
If the person is hardworking and has a good work ethic, then an employer does not care if they are male or female.I have worked for businesses where the cleaning staff consisted of both genders..
References :
David Sedaris was a housekeeper. He didn't own his own company. I own a housekeeping company & I would hire a male. It'd be easier on the eyes.
References :
Self & David Sedaris audiobooks.

Not really. Women have the benefit of a vagoo that lets them transport things between rooms much simpler if their hands are full.
